THE SEA, ALWAYS CALLING - FIRST MOVEMENT
The sea is always calling.
saline-teared mother from whom
all life is ushered,
she who holds the heat
which would obliterate us.
before land, there was endless sea,
and from her was ushered – cessed
to us – land; from her depths
we crawled, upwards and onwards.
all good others wish their children
to surpass them, to grow beyond,
to aspire and inspire, to be.
but the sea is always calling,
that fantastic and unfathomable depth,
a reflection of the cosmos above.
she reassures us, gently waving,
always reminding us of
our days upon and before the shore.
